School Priorities

Development Plan for the academic year

Each year we identify areas within the school that need to be developed, these priorities are set based on the school’s evaluation of its performance during that academic year. We then create a School Development Plan for the academic year.

These are our School Development Priorities

Key Priority 1: Oracy

To enhance practice within the school in relation to oracy, vocabulary acquisition and reading to ensure children have the appropriate language skills to access the whole curriculum.

Key Priority 2: Adaptive Teaching

Raise the profile of adaptive teaching practice within QFT - teachers will understand pupil levels of attainment and implement appropriate adaptations so all pupils have opportunities to experience success across the curriculum in an inclusive classroom.

Key Priority 3: Writing Pathway

To embed the Writing Pathway to ensure good progress in writing for all pupils and the number achieving age related standards in writing each year group to be in line with national outcomes 2024 (focus Y2/Y6).

Key Priority 4: Subject Leadership

To ensure subject leads are effective in their roles and within their subject responsibility know:

· the curriculum intent – what we want children to learn framework/coverage/progression/end points

· how this intent is implemented at classroom level

· the impact of our curriculum intent – how effective is the teaching and learning across the curriculum
